With Republicans still not having a clear frontrunner for President in 2012, Herman Cain could capitalize on this reality and give Republicans a person to rally behind all the way to sealing the Republican nomination for President in 2012. I know that many people reading this piece may not be familiar with Herman Cain. This piece will help you to get to know who Herman Cain is a little better by offering you some background information about him. Moreover, this piece will present arguments about why he could win the Republican Party’s Presidential nomination in 2012 and why he could defeat President Obama.
Herman Cain was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia. He is 65 years of age. He graduated from Morehouse College, one of the leading historically Black colleges in the nation, with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and minor in Physics. While working for the United States Department of Navy, he earned a master’s degree in Computer Science from Purdue University. Cain is a highly accomplished businessman and proven leader. He has served as a business analyst for Coca-Cola, Vice-President of Pillsbury, and Chief Executive Officer of Godfather’s Pizza. Herman Cain managed 400 Burger King stores in Philadelphia and took this region of stores from being the least profitable to the most profitable in the nation in just three years. Cain has also served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Restaurants Association.
Herman Cain has never held a political office. He ran for the U.S. Senate in 2004 in Georgia and did exceptionally well, but was not able to defeat the strong name recognition of now Senator Johnny Isakson.
Is there any early credible evidence to suggest that Herman Cain even has a chance to win the Republican nomination for President in 2012? In the first state to vote for the Republican Party’s Presidential nomination, Iowa, Cain won a straw poll by a large margin. Look at the results of the Iowa straw poll here: http://draftcain.org/blog.aspx.
In the 2010 Midterm Election, we witnessed the significant influence that the Tea Party had on the outcomes of elections. The Tea Party was instrumental in helping Republicans to take the U.S. House from Democrats, aided Republicans in picking up the most new U.S. House seats in history, helped closed the gap between Democrats and Republicans in the U.S. Senate, and assisted in the winning a number of new Republican governorships. Unquestionably, the Tea Party is a force to be reckoned with in the current national political milieu. The Tea Party will certainly have a tremendous influence on who will receive the Republican nomination for President. With the Tea Party’s demonstrated success in the 2010 Midterm Election, the fact that Herman Cain is one of the Tea Party’s favorite candidates for President greatly increases his chances of becoming President in 2012.
Ten years ago, the fact that Herman Cain has never held a political office would have prevented him from having a chance to win the Republican nomination and become President. However, there’s a strong anti-incumbent and anti-establishment political mood all across the country. Cain’s great business experience and his marketing of himself as a “problem-solver could help him to capture the Republican nomination for President. Of the Republican candidates who are running and who may run, he’s among the most inspiring and charismatic.
If he’s able to secure the Republican Party’s nomination for President, he can be a formidable candidate against President Obama. Cain has the anti-incumbent and anti-establishment political mood in his favor, the support of the Tea Party, experience as an accomplished business leader, and the ability to communicate in a way that enables him to go toe-to-toe with President Obama. I really think that his marketing of himself as a “problem-solver” is going to become as powerful as messages of “hope” and “change” were for President Obama in 2008. Messages of “hope” and “change” are not going to work for President Obama in 2012. If Cain is his opponent, he will not be able to enjoy the advantage of people wanting to vote for him just because they could make history by voting for the first Black President of the United States, considering Cain is Black.
Herman Cain’s strategy of building a strong grassroots movement in support of him in the early voting states is proving to gain him some serious support in those early states. Many people vigorously oppose President Obama’s healthcare reform bill. Cain led the fight against HillaryCare during President Clinton’s tenure in office when he led the National Restaurants Association. This opposition to HillaryCare, which shares many affinities with President Obama’s healthcare bill, can assist Cain in garnering more national support.
Don’t simply discredit the possibility that Herman Cain can win the Republican nomination for President and defeat President Obama in 2012 because you don’t see and hear about him all of time. Guess what? We didn’t know much about President Obama when he was running for President in 2008. Remember that?

I have never heard about this man. You bring up a good point about President Obama. We did not know anything about him before he decided to run. I still think Republicans will need a reputable candidate that is well-known to overcome Obama. I can’t wait to see what the bids are going to look like. This is going to be interesting.
Yes, it’s going to be a quite interesting Presidential race and probably even more interesting U.S. House and U.S. Senate race. They may not necessarily need a well-known candidate to defeat Obama. They can just run Obama against Obama, meaning run against his healthcare reform bill, high unemployment, a poor economy, high gas prices, massive deficits, cap and trade, and etc. Thanks for reading and your response.
A search for “Herman Cain” videos yields a pile. Check it out, you’ll like it. He’s a straight shooter, with a track record of real world accomplishment.
Run, Herman, Run!
Thank you so much for reading and responding. I will do a search for his more recent videos. I’m very familiar with most of his past videos, speeches, and etc. He is a great man. Thanks again!
If this were to happen this could be Obama’s worse nightmare. A black candidate that Republicans can relay behind and exclaim that their party does have much prejudice in it.
True. The longer the Republican Party goes without a clear frontrunner, the more and more attractive of a candidate Herman Cain becomes to go against Obama. In many ways, he could be the Republican Party’s Obama if they would nominate him. He’s a very likable guy, Black (of course), charismatic, a great communicator, and inspiring. Thanks for reading and your response.
I think u highlight many convensing points that support Hermans strengths but I think that a more elite member of the Tea party such as Texas Senator Ron Paul or Isakson himself will win the day! And we cant forget Newt Gingreg (maybe mispelled) and boys.
You just might be right. It’s going to be quite interesting to see what develops. I will certainly be keeping up with things and bringing news that I obtain to the site and will be offering my perspectives on the things that transpire. Thanks very much for reading and your response!
I have a magnetic strip that says the following on the back of my pickup truck.
Herman Cain – Pres.
Allen West – VP
I would like to send you a picture of this either by email or postal mail. Gil switzer
Gilbert, thank you very much for reading and your response. I would love to see a picture of the magnetic strip of Herman Cain and Allen West. My email address is email@example.com. Thank again!
Herman Cain is way more qualified to be president than Obama (but who isn’t?).
Cain was also Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and he worked for the department of the Navy.
His bachelors degree is in mathematics and his masters is in Computer Science, but he has also had great success in this business world. This is a very smart man who I would proudly pull the lever for. He’s succeeded in the real world and he would be an awesome president, restoring dignity and common sense to the White House.
Herman Cain, indeed, is a tremendously accomplished man. He certainly has more experience than President Obama. If he was to secure the Republican nomination and win the presidency, I, too, would be proud to see him as president. Thanks for reading and your response.
I first heard of Cain when I saw the video of his Tax Day Teaparty speech, and I was VERY impressed! I would gladly work to get this man elected.
I fear the Republican old guard almost as much as I fear the liberal establishment. I feel both are forces pushing us toward bigger government and even bigger debts.
Cain, along with a strong teaparty presence in both houses, could be just what America needs to get back on its feet.
Herman Cain is a very good man and would make a good U.S. President. Thanks for reading and your response!
I favored Ron Paul in the last election. But now, Herman Cain seems just as appealing. What I think would be incredibly powerful is if the two worked together as Pres. and VP. It wouldn’t matter who was in which position beacuse we would have not just one, but two people in a position of power who seem to REALLY care about this country.
Both of them are extraordinary men who can offer America a tremendous amount. I contend, however, that Ron Paul is somewhat incompatible with Herman Cain. I think Herman is a much more electable candidate than Ron Paul. It’s going to be quite interesting to see who becomes the Republican nominee for President. Thanks for reading and your response!
I am a small business owner in Post Falls Idaho.
Just wanted to let Herman know that I believe that he would be the kind of president that this country needs.
A Man with the same principles and beleifs that our founding fathers had. I will continue to pray that God would supernaturally intervine and open the doors wide open. We so much need a Spiritual leader for our country to bring us to our knees before the lord to restore all the blessings we once had. I do beleive Herman can be this leader. I pray also for protection for him from all the powers that would try to derail him. I pray that herman will hear the voice of the Lord. and the Lord would be right by his side and give him the words to say the eyes to see and the ears to hear through his campaign. Christ said All things are possible for those who believe. You’ve Got my vote. ( Your brother in Christ)
Amen! I wish Herman Cain well in his bid to become the next President of the United States of America. Thanks for reading and your response.
Hello all, it’s great to see so many positive responses for Herman Cain.
Since I have been following Cain, there is one big difference I am noticing between him and the other candidates. Herman Cain has invested effort in supporting a large grassroots organization to get the word out, and it has been working! In just 6 weeks Herman Cain’s recognition has gone from just 20% to 44%, and it is still climbing.
One of the reasons for that rapid increase is hi organization, Team Cain. Team Cain is a grassroots organization of private citizens who have had enough of Big (out of control) Government and have decided to take a stand and do something about it.
I encourage everyone who believes that Herman Cain is the best Presidential candidate for 2012 to visit http://hermancain.wildfireplatform.com/, sign up, and get involved. I am a great believer in the power of “We The People” and Herman Cain himself has said that everybody can do something. Well, I’m doing something, and I invite you all to join me at Team Cain and help to do something for our shared future and for our children and grandchildren.
Elect Herman Cain the next President of The United States!
America would certainly have a strong leader in Herman Cain if he is honored with becoming the next President of the United States of America.
